Cemetery

The Cuttyhunk Cemetery is a quiet place of beauty and reflection. It also provides a glimpse into the long history of military duty served by islanders.

Originally the Slocum family burying ground, the cemetery’s oldest gravestone belongs to Hannah Slocum, who died in 1822. In 1889, the land the cemetery is on was given by the Cuttyhunk Club to the town for upkeep.

A key providing the grave locations of service members.
